Fabric junkies treat

The countdown is on. Stalls are all taken, although we’re getting an increasing number taking up the offer of an outside table (weather dependant – lets hope this cold snap GOES AWAY). Ruth Meier will be there with her amazing collections of buttons again, while Geoff has some amazing quality upholstery fabric for a song. Plus the usual unusual trims, notions and vintage and modern fabric to get your creative juices flowing.

There’s a few fabric events popping up around New Zealand aka fabricabrac. If you’re in Christchurch check out Stash Rehash on the weekend before FBB – 8 November.

I’m working on, er, having a baby at the moment. But once bubs arrives I’m also looking at expanding the fabricabracs to other centres in New Zealand. I’ve been talking to a few people in the main centres, but i you are interested in helping host a fabricabrac event on your town, get in touch with me . I’d love to chat to you and work with you to help spread the fabricabrac love around New Zealand.

BTW Did anyone go to the Vintage Fair in Auckland last month? Would love to hear what it was like on the fabric-front- believe there was a bit of fabric there?

We now have the official November fabric-a-brac Nov poster– If everyone could post this on their work intranets, noticeboards etc. that’d be great. It’ll be the usual fun, full house of lovely fabric, with leather, upholstery and another great selection of vintage fabric. We had so much fabric donated for the Mary Potter Hospice table last time, which we sorted through a few weeks ago and there’s some real gems in there  – pure wool, suede and lovely floral prints. You’ll be able to pick up lots of it for only $4 a bundle. If you would like to donate QUALITY fabric (no used duvet covers with stains please?!@!# see how to donate for more info.
