About Fabric-a-brac Auckland

  • 2024 Date TBC

The Auckland Fabric-a-brac was one of the first in New Zealand after Wellington! We were in Ponsonby, but the event is now held in Freeman’s Bay at the community hall.

Fabric-a-brac is a fun fabric and sewing supplies market where you can shop for vintage and modern sewing and upholstery fabric, patterns, haberdashery and more. It brings the sewing community together to share stashes, stories and delight in our mutual love of textiles.

Fabric-a-brac is volunteer-run, and is a fundraiser for hospice – in Auckland this is Mercy Hospice. All profits from this event are donated to their work.

Selling fabric

If you have a stash you’d like to sell, you can apply to have a stall. You pay a stallholder fee (which goes to Hospice) but anything you make on the day is yours to keep.

If you have fabric, haberdashery or patterns you’d like to move on, but don’t want to have a table, get in touch with us to find out about options. fabricabracauck@gmail.com

Pop-up cafe

There will be tea, coffee and sweet treats for sale in our pop-up cafe, so you can sit down and chat over your new projects and fabric purchases. All proceeds from the cafe also go to Hospice.

Buying fabric

BRING CASH as many of the stallholders will be selling by cash only.

If you are looking for some new inspiration for future projects, great bargains, funky old fabric and quirky bits  – Fabric-a-brac is for you. Come along and pick up some fantastic sewing-related bargains.
