Make the trip

You may not know this, but Palmerston North has been a veritable hub of quilting and crafty activity since way back when. Ann Packer in her lovely book ‘Crafty Girls’ Road Trip’ testifies to this.

There’re also some great op shops and material shops.

If you want to make a day of it, see the ‘Things to do in Palmy‘ page for some ideas of what to do. If you’re on the way here from Wellie we’ve got some ideas for you too, and some great little treasure troves to explore once you’ve spent your fabric-a-brac budget.

You can find out how fabric-a-brac works on this website, take a look at some of our great media coverage and photos from previous events.

  1. So fantastic that you are coming to Palmie. Myself and 5 girlfriends have booked in a morning away from kids to come to it. We are very amateur sewers/quilters but really looking forward to it.

Had heard about the Wellington one in ‘Your Home and Garden’ magazine and tried to get to Wellington but wiht 3 pre-schoolers ended up being too hard, so thanks for bringing it to me and Palmerston North.

    • Hey there 🙂 So glad you are excited about the event, a lovely comment! It is a lot of fun, and I am looking forward to seeing you there. Come and say hi! I’ll probably be near the Hospice tables somewhere.

    • Hi there,
Come along to the next fabric-a-brac in Palmerston North, or 5 November in Wellington! We usually have a good selection, although it varies on the event. You could also post a comment on the fabricabrac facebook page and you might get some good tips from my followers…
