About Fabric-a-brac Wellington

  • NEXT EVENT: TBC
  • St Anne’s Hall, Emmett St (drive to the end), Newtown, Wellington.

The first Fabric-a-brac was held in Wellington 15 years ago – we’re sew excited to still be here, bring the sewing community together and raising money for Mary Potter Hospice.

Fabric-a-brac is a fun fabric and sewing supplies market where you can shop for vintage and modern sewing and upholstery fabric, patterns, haberdashery and more. It brings the sewing community together to share stashes, stories and delight in our mutual love of textiles.

Fabric-a-brac is volunteer-run, and is a fundraiser for hospice – in Wellington this is Mary Potter Hospice. All profits from this event are donated to their work. We’ve raised $80,000 since that first event in 2009.

Stallholders

Read about some of our stallholders – more stories will be added as we get closer to the event.

Wellington Stallholder Stories 2024

If you have fabric, haberdashery or patterns you’d like to move on, but don’t want to have a table, you can donate items. This will all go onto the hospice table on the day, and all profits will go to their wonderful work.

Pop-up cafe

There will be tea, coffee and sweet treats for sale in our pop-up cafe, so you can sit down and chat over your new projects and fabric purchases. All proceeds from the cafe also go to Hospice.

Buying fabric

BRING CASH as most stallholders and the cafe will be selling by cash only.

If you are looking for some new inspiration for future projects, great bargains, funky old fabric and quirky bits  – Fabric-a-brac is for you. Come along and pick up some fantastic sewing-related bargains.

Helping us promote the event

When our event is confirmed, we’ll pop our poster here. If you can, we’d love your help to promote the event. You can download and print our poster – stick it up at your workplace, social groups or in your local cafe or shops. Thank you so much!
